BioReader interface guide

Every state of the BioReader is shown on its front panel: a center LED for connection, a pair of status LEDs for the test, one button to start a run and one to power the instrument. This page covers all of them.

AStatus LEDs, one on each side of the center LED

CCenter button, hold to start a test
DPower button, on the right side level with the LEDs, hold to turn on or off

02 · Center LED

Flashing blue

Pairing mode. The BioReader is discoverable from the Pronova App.

Solid blue

Connected to a device.

Blinks red, ~2 s

The center button was held while a test is running. The test continues, nothing is interrupted.

03 · Side LEDs

Blinking white

Firmware update in progress. Leave the BioReader powered on until it finishes.

Alternating green

A test is running. Leave the Kora Strip in place and keep the BioReader powered on.

Both solid green

Test complete. Pair the Pronova App to download the reading.

Both solid red

An error occurred during the run. You should only see this if the BioReader was turned off while a test was running. To clear it, turn the BioReader off and close the Pronova App, then turn the BioReader back on and pair it with the app again. The error clears once they connect, and the BioReader is ready for a new test. You do not need a Kora Strip for this step.

04 · Buttons

Center button

A brief press does nothing. Hold for more than 5 seconds to start a test. Holding it while a test is already running does not interrupt the run, the center LED blinks red for about 2 seconds instead.

Power button

On the right side of the BioReader, level with the LEDs. Hold to turn it on, hold again to turn it off. Do not power it off while the side LEDs are alternating green: turning the instrument off mid-test ends the run in an error, shown as both side LEDs solid red.
