What we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

Pronova Inc. (“Pronova,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This privacy policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, when we share it, and the choices you have. It applies to our website, our mobile application, and our in-person and study-related activities (collectively, the “Services”).

By using our Services or taking part in a study, you agree to the practices described in this privacy policy.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide directly:

  • Contact and account information, such as your name, email address, phone number, and mailing address.
  • Dog information, such as your dog’s name, breed, age, weight, sex, and health background.
  • Study and testing information, including saliva samples, biomarker results, and related health data you or your dog generate through our Services.
  • Payment and compensation information needed to pay study participants or process purchases. Card processing is handled by third-party processors; we do not store full card numbers.
  • Communications you send us, including feedback, survey responses, and support requests.

Information collected automatically:

  • Device and usage data, such as IP address, browser type, device identifiers, pages viewed, app interactions, and dates and times of access.
  • Cookies and similar technologies used to operate the site, remember preferences, measure performance, and support advertising. See section 6.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve our Services, products, and biosensor technology.
  • Deliver results, guidance, trend monitoring, and other features within our app.
  • Conduct and refine our research, data models, publications, and presentations, in de-identified form where used for research outputs.
  • Process compensation, payments, and study logistics.
  • Communicate with you about your account, results, studies, updates, and promotions you have opted into.
  • Measure and improve marketing and advertising performance.
  • Protect the security and integrity of our Services and comply with legal obligations.

3. How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

  • Service providers: with vendors who perform services on our behalf, for example cloud hosting, analytics, payment processing, shipping and logistics, and laboratory or research partners, under obligations to protect your information.
  • Research and clinical partners: with veterinary clinics or research collaborators involved in sample collection or studies, consistent with any separate agreement you sign and with de-identification where applicable.
  • Legal and safety: when required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Pronova, our users, or others.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
  • With your consent: for any other purpose disclosed to you at the time we collect the information.

Research outputs use anonymized data, and your dog’s identity will not be disclosed in those outputs.

4. Saliva samples and health data

Saliva samples and the health data derived from them are central to our research. We store and process this data to develop and validate our sensors and health monitoring tools. Where samples or results are used for research models, presentations, or publications, personal identifiers are removed. You may ask us to stop retaining or testing your samples by contacting us in writing. See section 12. This will not affect results or research already generated.

5. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as needed to provide the Services, conduct our research, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. De-identified data may be retained indefinitely for research and product development. When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to delete or de-identify it.

6. Cookies and advertising technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate our website, remember your preferences, analyze traffic, and measure the performance of our marketing. We may work with third-party analytics and advertising providers that set their own cookies to help us understand usage and reach relevant audiences. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and you may opt out of certain advertising cookies through the tools those providers offer. Disabling some cookies may affect how the site functions.

7. Your choices and rights

You have the right to access, update, or delete your personal data at any time. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request a copy of your information, to opt out of certain uses such as targeted advertising, to correct inaccuracies, and to withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@pronovapets.com. We will respond consistent with applicable law and may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. You may also unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in those messages.

8. Data security

We maintain reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Children’s privacy

Our Services are intended for adults, eighteen and older, who own or are authorized to enroll a dog. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

10. International users

We are based in the United States, and your information will be processed and stored in the United States, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence. By using our Services, you consent to this transfer and processing.

11. Changes to this privacy policy
